Themes:
Gender Equality

Strengthening the autonomy of women by supporting processes that increase the defense and enforcement of their human rights, labor and gender

The ultimate goal of this project is to strengthen the implementation of labour rights and improve access to justice for women workers in the Mercedes Industrial Park (zona franca).   This project uses three strategies: 1) training and capacity building of women leaders and workers; 2) providing legal services to workers in the Mercedes Industrial Park; and 3) promoting discussion, debate, and analysis of the situation that women workers face in the Maquilas with business leaders, decision makers, and the public at large.
