Every year on December 10th, activists in more than 80 countries gather on their own or in large and small events to press governments to respond to a human rights concern on selected high-priority cases. We also write letters of hope and solidarity directly to prisoners or people experiencing human rights violations.

Keep the International Youth Internships Program Alive!

Since 1997, the International Youth Internship Program (IYIP)-- and more recently International Aboriginal Youth Internship Initiative (IAYI)-- have provided thousands of Canadians aged 19-30 with the opportunity to gain experience in international development, build relationships between Canada and international partners and provide meaningful contributions to community development projects.

End the Militarization of Rio Blanco and Respect Indigenous Rights

On July 15, Indigenous Lenca community leader Tomas Garcia was murdered by the Honduran military in Rio Blanco, Honduras at a protest calling for the Agua Zarca Project to leave his community's territory. He was shot at close range multiple times. Tomas' murder is the latest escalation in two months of repression by the military in Rio Blanco.
